High Intensity CBT Practitioner/ Trainee Supervisor

 

The Link is a professional mental health and emotional wellbeing provider.  We provide therapeutic services to children, young people and families across the North East including Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and Darlington. Our services include a wide range of workshops and training, therapeutic assessments, one to one therapeutic interventions including specialist therapies and Children and Young People Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) evidence-based therapies. 

We are currently recruiting 1 x Full time High Intensity CBT Practitioner/ Trainee Supervisor post to start with our organisation in September 2022.

The partnership is fully supported and working in collaboration with NHS TEWV and will work directly into schools alongside existing provision, to support mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing needs. This partnership approach will help embed a culture of openness around mental health, forge stronger links between education settings and the wider Mental Health offer in South Tees and ensure children and young people can access appropriate support and stay in education.

 

Candidates for this role must have at least 2 years post qualification experience working within the role of a High Intensity CBT Practitioner; this must be detailed within the application, stating the details of the qualification and the relevant experience within this specific role. 

 

Candidates who have already received the Supervisory qualification needed to perform this role will not need to attend further formal training (detailed below) The salary is negotiable based on qualification and experience. 

Successful candidates will be offered an educational programme specifically for the role in partnership with Northumbria University. The Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision is specifically designed for professionals who are in, or will be required to adopt, Clinical  Supervision roles within services participating, in the Children and Young Peoples' Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (CYP-IAPT) initiative including Mental health support teams (EMHP) and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP’s). During training this post will be paid at NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 5 Point 22 (£31,534).

 

During training, the post holder will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge & understanding, professional skills & abilities and personal values required of competent and effective Clinical Supervisors. The course is taught over one year (12 months) and will include a mix of university contact, remote/online teaching (eg. lectures, tutorials), independent study and service-based supervision practice. 

 

On successful completion of training, the High Intensity CBT Practitioner/ Trainee Supervisor will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, capabilities and qualification to develop, support, and supervise Educational Mental Health Practitioners to deliver evidence-based practice. This post holder, once qualified, will be paid at NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 6 Point 27.  

 

The High Intensity CBT Practitioner/ Trainee Supervisor, will play a key role in the development of our Educational Mental Health Practitioners within the InsideOut Mental Health Support Team, who will have the responsibility for delivering schools’ overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

 

As this is a full-time training post, initially you will apply for the post, just as you would with any other job application, and then you will be expected to make a separate application to the university mentioned later on in the recruitment and selection process. 

 

The expected start date for this position is 1st September 2022, following an application to enrol onto the University course, the post holder will complete pre-course induction in October 2022, in preparation for the course to start in January 2023.
