Sandy Goodenough (Non Executive Director) Sandy's career has centred around working with multi-disciplinary teams and developing effective support to improve the mental wellbeing of children and adults, primarily within Redcar & Cleveland; and she is passionate about providing early intervention. Sandy worked as a counsellor at Tees Valley Counselling Trust, Cruse Bereavement Care and Redcar & Cleveland Mind. She was instrumental in setting up new services, recruiting, and providing Continuous Professional Development Training at Redcar and Cleveland Mind; whilst managing a team of mental health professionals who were supporting adults, children and their families within multi-agency settings. She spent some years as a volunteer youth leader and assisting at a local school, whilst employed as a residential social worker in Saltburn. Then Sandy initially trained alongside some inspirational experts to become an accomplished complementary practitioner; gaining insight into the mind and body as a whole, developing techniques to help individuals of all ages and abilities. Sandy studied at Hull University to become an Integrative Person-centred Counsellor in 2010 and went on to completed her BA Hons in 2011 to become a Psychotherapist. Sandy completed research into 'the Relevance of Non-verbal Communication in the Support Setting'; which inspired her to develop a number of workshops/training days for mental health professionals, such as, 'Vicarious Trauma in the workplace' and 'Body Language, Speaks Volumes'. Joining such a dedicated team at The Link is a blessing.
