Volunteering provides many benefits to both mental and physical health, it can provide a healthy boost to your self confidence, self-esteem, life satisfaction. Sharing your time, energy and skills to support your local community is a great way to help others. The Link welcomes anyone who would like to share their skills with us to support our social aim of preventing emotional distress and supporting children and young people with mental health difficulties.
You don't need to have any specific qualifications, just some time to give and it helps if you have a sense of humour! You need to be flexible in your approach to work as volunteering activities can be quite varied.
The ability to work with a range of people can also be helpful.
Child Protection and Safeguarding training as well as a variety of Health and Safety and First Aid training courses are on offer, some of which will be compulsory. Full support will be given to volunteers to understand and carry out their roles as appropriate. You will need to agree to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check completed.
The Link is committed to having a passionate team of people to deliver our services.
